The idea
There are twelve rooms at Society Hill Hotel — and there are supposed to be twelve. Dark walnut, brass fixtures, moody floral wallpaper, black-and-white tile in the bath. The kind of room that looks better at night than it does at noon.
What it is: a walk-up in an 1832 building on one of the best blocks in Philadelphia, a restaurant downstairs you’d walk to on its own, and a neighborhood you’ll want to be on foot in. Not the Four Seasons. Nothing like the Marriotts a few streets over.

“Our stay was amazing. The building was perfect — quaint and aesthetic and comfortable. The room came with a working record player, heated bathroom floors and toilet seats. Everything was perfect with easy check-in, and we used the parking suggestions nearby.”

“This hotel was very clean and the decorations were so cute! A gentleman helped us on our first day and then remembered us for the rest of our trip. He was so helpful and so nice.”

Downstairs
Piccolina is a contemporary Italian restaurant that shares our ground floor. It isn’t ours — separate team, separate kitchen, separate reservations — but it’s where most guests arrive, where the building comes to life at night, and where you can be at a table in under a minute.
Dinner daily at 5pm. Reserve directly with them.

Old City, on foot
Four minutes to Independence Hall. Six to Elfreth’s Alley. Ten to the river. Every major Old City landmark is within six minutes on foot.

Labor Day
The Ben Franklin Parkway turns into a two-day music festival — headliners, food, and a city-center crowd.
And if your dates fall between the headliners, don’t worry — Philadelphia doesn’t slow down. There’s something on every weekend: First Fridays in Old City, Phillies and Sixers home games, a new exhibit at the Museum of the American Revolution, a pop-up on the Parkway. Ask us when you check in.
